TRANSITION

The boy last night. It was based on father's advice. I had to, he said someday I would understand, and then I would appreciate and love him for it. He said it was necessary for my growth process, a ritual that signals the birth of a new Era, a new phase - "a pathway to a new beginning" as he puts it.

Mum wouldn't want it, she wouldn't agree to such a decision, there was so much heaviness in her face when I finally agreed to do it. She's a mother afterall, or maybe it was because she feared more, of what would happen next, that if things went wrong the future would be bleaker and the days darker. She wouldn't see the necessity of the action not when there was an easy way out. The uncertainty that came with such decisions was something we all feared. I also needed. I also needed a soft landing - someone that would give me a cozy hug and commend my cowardice. I had just one shot to shoot, hit or miss my whole life changes forever, consulting my closest grey hair was the best decision I had taken since all of this started.

And so I had run to father that night with a heavy and confused heart to seek fatherly counsel, for a heart
-heart talk between the son and his father, hoping to
get clarity, support, and just anything that would
bring me out of my Nile of misery and fear.

I sat on the chair facing his bed and emptied my mind before this fairly ancient being, who looked back with an astonishingly stern calmness as he listened ardently to every word I said.

BLACK PANTHER

Two broke friends saved up 3,500 naira to see the blockbuster movie 'Black Panther'. The problem they had was that the money will only be enough for one of them. They decided to hatch a plan. The slimmer friend was going to get into a big luggage. The other friend will zip the bag and claim that he goes everywhere with the bag.

The slimmer friend,Ben, got into the bag, squeezed himself into the bag and Alex zipped the bag. As they got to the entrance of the cinema, Alex ran into his high-school crush and was so shy to tell the security guard that he moves everywhere with a big luggage. The security noticed his confusion and asked,'sir, may I help you with your bag, please? We have a store room that is well secured where we'll keep it for you'.

Alex reluctantly said, 'Yes'
The Security collected the bag, lifted it and noticed that it was unusually heavy.
'sir, please for security purpose, could you please tell us the content of your bag'
Nervously, Alex responded ' my personal effects. I was actually travelling out of town when a friend called me that I had to come urgently to the cinema'.
The security who was not convinced asked 'May I please double check, just to be sure?
'Ahn Ahn, can't I have my privacy again?
'okay'the security pulled the bag, 'I'll just carry the bag to the store, thank you.

Alex watched as the security man pulled the bag away towards the end of the walk way. He watched helplessly and wished hebhad never played the prank

AFTER A LONG BREAK...

It's been months since I posted something on here... I'm not going to come here with lies about going on vacation or giving believable excuses. Rather I'm going to tender my reserved apology for going MIA. What happened is just very typical of a new blogger. You have great ideas at first, very passionate and you expect some cheers from readers. Then, gradually it dawns on you that such cheers don't come easy. You have to re-strategise and get more creative. For this, you need time for your ideas to bud and grow into reasonable and entertaining contents that will entertain, educate and inform your readers.

Also, I had to be financially ready for blogging. Especially in a country like ours where cheap and accessible data cannot just be conjured with a magic wand. I needed to make provision for a reliable network and other important logistics.

Enough of my analysis. Let's get back to business, I mean entertainment- the purpose of which this blog was created in the first place. Let's discuss this hot gist that's making waves on social media. An old and fragile looking man in his 80's recently got married to a woman in her 40's. They had a white wedding and it really got people talking. Some people pleaded that the old man should be allowed to rest and enjoy the rest of his years, while others see something very wrong with his actions. Let's throw the ball around, what is your view? without being judgmental, do you think there's an ideal age limit to marriage, to love, to understanding?

BEAUTY TIPS

Let the females get in here. Liquid lipsticks are everywhere and they are becoming ladies' favourite. Most liquid lipsticks are comfortable to wear, long-lasting and kiss-proof.

Here are helpful tips on how to use your lipstick to give you a perfect, flawless look:
Exfoliate : it is advised that you exfoliate your lips before applying a liquid lipstick. You can make a simple sugar scrub using sugar and olive oil.

Don't be in a hurry. Take your time and gently apply it while making sure it is spread evenly.

Don't use too much. The saying 'less is more' applies here.

Never apply liquid lipstick to dry lips. Apply a little lip balm on your lips before applying it.

Avoid rubbing your lips together when applying matte lip colour or everything will start to crumble and flake.

LET'S GET HEALTHY

Have you ever gotten attracted to someone who has desirable qualities, only to find out that he or she has a bad breath? If you are the type that gets easily irritated, I bet your next resort would be to find a way out or seek possible solution.

The medical name of bad breath is 'halitosis' and it can be a sign of bad dental habits or some health problems. No one feels comfortable with bad breath, either when it is coming from you or someone else. This explains why most people will brush their teeth first thing in the morning.

Here are some of the things that can trigger bad breath :
Not brushing your teeth regularly
Dental and gastrointestinal tract diseases
Eating foods such as garlic and raw onions
Coffee drinking, tobacco chewing and smoking

If you can relate with any of these causes, below are some effective and simple way to tackle bad breath:
Maintain oral hygiene by brushing your teeth at least twice a day.
Wash your tongue whenever you brush.
Visit a dentist and make your visit a routine. It is recommended that a dental visit should be done twice a year.
Chew gums with less sugar
Always drink plenty of water, especially after meal
Quit smoking
Take Probiotics

With these tips bad breath can be managed effectively and even treated.
