BEAUTY TIPS

Let the females get in here. Liquid lipsticks are everywhere and they are becoming ladies' favourite. Most liquid lipsticks are comfortable to wear, long-lasting and kiss-proof.

Here are helpful tips on how to use your lipstick to give you a perfect, flawless look:
Exfoliate : it is advised that you exfoliate your lips before applying a liquid lipstick. You can make a simple sugar scrub using sugar and olive oil.

Don't be in a hurry. Take your time and gently apply it while making sure it is spread evenly.

Don't use too much. The saying 'less is more' applies here.

Never apply liquid lipstick to dry lips. Apply a little lip balm on your lips before applying it.

Avoid rubbing your lips together when applying matte lip colour or everything will start to crumble and flake.

LET'S GET HEALTHY

Have you ever gotten attracted to someone who has desirable qualities, only to find out that he or she has a bad breath? If you are the type that gets easily irritated, I bet your next resort would be to find a way out or seek possible solution.

The medical name of bad breath is 'halitosis' and it can be a sign of bad dental habits or some health problems. No one feels comfortable with bad breath, either when it is coming from you or someone else. This explains why most people will brush their teeth first thing in the morning.

Here are some of the things that can trigger bad breath :
Not brushing your teeth regularly
Dental and gastrointestinal tract diseases
Eating foods such as garlic and raw onions
Coffee drinking, tobacco chewing and smoking

If you can relate with any of these causes, below are some effective and simple way to tackle bad breath:
Maintain oral hygiene by brushing your teeth at least twice a day.
Wash your tongue whenever you brush.
Visit a dentist and make your visit a routine. It is recommended that a dental visit should be done twice a year.
Chew gums with less sugar
Always drink plenty of water, especially after meal
Quit smoking
Take Probiotics

With these tips bad breath can be managed effectively and even treated.

'MONDAY MORNING RUSH'

This morning I had an appointment with an NGO. It was something I had being looking forward to because I felt their project was laudable and I really wanted to be a part of it. I woke up as early as 5:00am, performed my early morning duties and made breakfast for my two sweethearts. By the time I was done and set to hit the road, it was already 7.45am. And did I mention that my appointment was 8.00am?

I tried to avoid imagining the much dreaded inevitable: Monday traffic. But the harsh reality was I couldn't avoid it. It was as if this traffic was made specially for me. Long story short, I got to the NGO's office, 35 minutes late. My saving grace, I got there before their Boss. She came few minutes later and was apologizing to me, saying she got stucked in the traffic. I was just feeling very cool.( you're not alone Ma)

This few tips might help you have a less stressful Monday:
1. Make sure you do some of your chores on Sunday evening.
2. Write a to-do-list and place it on the wall, where you can easily access it
3. Set an alarm
At somepoint in one's career, one would have experienced a nasty Monday. Let's share some of our experiences.

This movie centers on some individuals who were competing for the post of the CEO of a multinational company. A woman sacrifices her lovely home and her life. Someone keeps perpetrating evil until the end of the movie, when a shocking revelation arose.

LOVING OUR LOVED ONES

One of the things we usually take for granted is letting our parents know how much we love and appreciate them for the love and sacrifice they have shown us from the very first day. The truth is that most of us really love and appreciate them but we may not pay the necessary attention to the importance of professing our love to them.

We should endeavour to spend quality time with them, care for them and support them in every way possible. The bitter reality is that no one will be around forever. So, let us make every moment count because someday it will become the memories we will reminisce on.

It is never too late or too odd to tell her parents: I LOVE YOU.

INSPIRATIONAL

Have you ever wondered why some things seem to take forever? Are you are graduate and the much anticipated career you expected is not coming your way? Or, you are a young single lady who wants to be happily married and start a lovely family but no man is forth coming? Whatever your situation is, please... Relax.

If you think good things don't take time, think again. The most noble and natural process, the act of giving birth, takes NINE months. The physical essence of survival, food, takes time too. Food crops don't grow over night. They are planted, they germinate and are nutured over a period of time till they mature and are good for consumption.

Other life achievements such as getting educated requires time and even process. Starting from kindergarten or playgroup, a child progress to the nursery section. After sometime, he graduates to the Primary school, then secondary school and finally a highetr institution of learning. Infact, learning never ends.

Interestingly, if basic things a life requires this much time and effort, then be rest assured that your purpose in life cannot occur as an accident. God has a plan for you. He knew you before you were formed in the womb. Also, he loves you. Relax and enjoy God's favour. Everything will fall in place at its right time.

JORDAN GOES COMPLETELY NUDE

After Tyga broke up with Jenner, it was rumoured that 24-year-old Jordan Ozuna is his new girlfriend. She shared this naked picture of herself on instagram and has since received many likes and increased followership.

MERCY AIGBE OPENS UP ABOUT HER MARRIAGE

Mercy Aigbe has granted a 'tell-it-all' interview to Broadway TV about her ordeal in the hands of her husband. She also shed light on the reason why she kept silent for so long. She also discussed her husband's alleged infidelity among other issues.

Below are the excerpts:

Mercy had accused her husband of physical violence that has affected her sight and caused her to bleed internally from the physical abuse allegedly melted down to her on Sunday, April 16, 2017.

When she was asked why she came out to say her husband never touched her, she was quick to refute it.

“I never for once came out to say that my husband did not beat me. The video people were referring to happened in 2013 when there were rumours of such and I did a video recording alongside my husband to debunk the claim. At that time I had to do it to protect his image and my marriage. I had to do a live video at that time”, she said.

About Beating…

“He beats me consistently.”
When probed on why she stayed that long after the consistent beating, Mercy revealed that she did because she wanted a home.

“I stayed because I loved him and because he beats me, he begs and gets family and friends to beg me. He promised regularly to change but he never did. When my husband gets angry, he gets physical, not only to me but to anyone. He has done that with my house help who reported him to the Police years ago.

“I stayed because of my children and a lot of people look up to me. I was a role model of some sort and I really wanted to keep it together. I just wanted a home”.

Why she wants to leave now…
“It’s not like I wanted to walk away but I just feel like we need help. I spoke to my husband’s brother about it. I told him I was going to pack out for some time while my husband seeks therapy. I just wanted to feel safe, that is why I moved my things out. This last beating was brutal. I actually thought I was going to die”.

I’m Still Coughing blood

The Nollywood actress revealed that her husband broke her orbits which will necessitate a surgery for her to see properly. “I’m still coughing and sneezing blood even after three weeks”, she reveals how severe the injury inflicted upon her is.

My Husband Was Sleeping With a Girl
Also revealed that the last incident started few days before when she discovered that her husband was sleeping with a lady.

A lady she claimed to be her friend whom she was close to. This was a regular attitude from her husband; a man she claims has slept with a lot of people close to her, even her PAs. She confronted him and it led to a huge argument which was turning violent before she had to keep quiet.

He Kept Beating Me. On the day of the incident, Mercy had informed her husband that she was attending a burial of her colleague. After his hesitance, she explained that it would not be fair on the lady since she had promised to be there and even invited him to come along.

Mercy revealed that it was her refusal to go and pick her husband up while she was still at her designer’s place that brought the fury of the man on her. He was said to have driven there and started to beat her in the presence of everybody.

“Immediately, I opened the door, he kept beating me. I was begging him and asking why he was beating me. He said he would destroy my face such that no make-up would fix it and destroy my career. He was acting like someone who was possessed. I told him “Lanre, mo ma bi mo fun e” (translated as “I have a child for you).

I agree that I am a fool

In the exclusive interview, the Nollywood star said she agrees that she was a fool for staying that long even with all the beating and humiliation. “I believed that a wise woman builds her home. That’s why I stayed that long”, she said.

About Cheating

“If he had shown a bit of remorse, maybe things would have been different. He went on saying that I cheated on him several times. I never cheated. That’s why I told him to come out with proof”, she said.

My Husband was in detention for over 7 months

“My husband was in detention for over seven months and I never left him or go anywhere. Why would I want to go now? He says all this is make-up. He is not showing any form of remorse and still sponsoring lies against me.

PRE-WEDDING PICTURES

It is no longer news that some of the things people who are about to wed do as part of their marriage rites is snapping pre-wedding pictures. It all started as a harmless, innovative and creative concept, until suddenly when it took a drastic turn. In an attempt to out-do one another, couples began to get more desperate and less creative.

It is heartbreaking that newly weds that should serve as good examples to singles are the one coming out with some funny concepts. Imagine snapping a pre-wedding picture in chains, is that suppose to suggest that the marriage institution is synonymous to imprisonment?

Let's share our view on this new trend. What's the craziest concept you've ever seen?

MOVIE GIST 1

One of the things we do to break boredom is watching movies. As we lay on the couch or assume any other position we find comfortable, we look forward to being entertained, thrilled and satisfied. Our taste varies. While some are lovers of comedy movies, others prefer action-packed movies, while some crave to be lost in the mystical world of horror movies. Yet, others may spend their last dime to get a copy of a thriller. Foreign movies have come to stay with a wide range of movies they offer us. The Hollywood industry has indeed carved a niche for itself. Over the years, they have improved the quality and substance of the movies they produce.

In our country, the Nollywood industry is also making frantic effort to meet up with international standard. However, there is always a room for improvement. Today, we will be discussing a popular Nigerian movie that hit the cinema late last year. Your guess is right: THE WEDDING PARTY.

How interesting is it? Can you classify it as a blockbuster? What is your opinion about the casting? Any twist or suspense? Is it a movie you will love to watch again? The opinions are highly valued. Let's set the ball rolling...

MATTERS OF THE HEART 1 : Long distance relationship

My name is ********. Please hide my name. There's this guy I met last year through a friend. My friend, let's call her Mary, went to visit her Aunty. I decided to follow her. So, when we got there I saw her Aunty's younger brother washing a car in the compound. Immediately I set my eyes on him I just knew we had chemistry. He greeted my friend casual and also turned to say HI to me. As he smiled my heart melt. To cut the long story short, that was how we started. We exchanged numbers and he shows me all the love and care I ever wanted.

The problem now is that he called me last week and told me that he's travelling next week for his masters abroad. And he will love to stay and work afterwards. I asked him if he wants me to stay and he said he needs me to decide. That the choice is for me to make. Abeg, Shey make I stay for this kain long distance relationship. Aunty, please mail me your personal advice. I really need advice on what to do. Thank you

WHEN I WAS A KID

When we were kids, there we so many instructions that were given to us, and breaking such instructions meant doom. They were numerous fairy tales we find interesting and we strongly believed some of the facts. The story of Mr. Tortoise is a legendary one. 'Ijapa tiroko, oko yannibo'. We all knew how he broke his shell.

There were various taboos, rules and regulations, most of which were sacrosanct. We were told that whenever one of our teeth removes, we must pick certain number of stones and throw it on the roof alongside with the tooth. I personally adhered strictly to that rule.

Our nursery rhymes later came with shocking revelations as we grow older. We used to sing ' Sanda lili, Sanda lili, I am a doctor in my country...', not until recently we discovered that it is 'Standard living, Standard living'...

On this section, we'll be discussing some of the funny things we did when we were kids. What did you find most shocking? What are some things a part of you still believe? Which of the taboos do you think should not be passed to our younger ones?

WHISTLE BLOWING

In Nigeria, it has been noticed that there's always a particular issue that trends at a certain time. For example, there was a time when facebook was on the centre stage in Nigeria. Our old parents were not left out either. A lot of us can still recall when our parents called us to explain to them how to use facebook. Now, it is instagram and snapchat everywhere. Anyone that is ignorant of what this social media tools work for will be seen as 'archaic' or 'socially backward'. Other areas apart from social media include entertainment, sports, fashion and then, politics. The list goes on and on. The recent trend that we will find entertaining is the famous 'whistle blowing' trend. Do you think everyone should blow a whistle? If you are to blow a whistle, who will be your victim. If someone where to blow a whistle on you, what do you think it will be about? The comment session is all yours...
