WHEN I WAS A KID

When we were kids, there we so many instructions that were given to us, and breaking such instructions meant doom. They were numerous fairy tales we find interesting and we strongly believed some of the facts. The story of Mr. Tortoise is a legendary one. 'Ijapa tiroko, oko yannibo'. We all knew how he broke his shell.

There were various taboos, rules and regulations, most of which were sacrosanct. We were told that whenever one of our teeth removes, we must pick certain number of stones and throw it on the roof alongside with the tooth. I personally adhered strictly to that rule.

Our nursery rhymes later came with shocking revelations as we grow older. We used to sing ' Sanda lili, Sanda lili, I am a doctor in my country...', not until recently we discovered that it is 'Standard living, Standard living'...

On this section, we'll be discussing some of the funny things we did when we were kids. What did you find most shocking? What are some things a part of you still believe? Which of the taboos do you think should not be passed to our younger ones?
